Data & Privacy Policy (CIBIL / Credit Score)

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Purpose of This Policy

This Data & Privacy Policy explains specifically how the free, consent-based credit-score check on loanserv.in works, what data it uses, and how LoanServ ("LoanServ", "we", "us" or "our") protects that data. It supplements our main Privacy Policy. LoanServ is a Direct Selling Agent (DSA) and loan facilitator based in Hyderabad, Telangana, and is not a lender, bank, NBFC or a Credit Information Company (CIC).

How the Credit-Score Check Works

When you choose to check your credit score on loanserv.in, we ask only for the minimum details needed to identify you to a credit bureau:

  1. You provide your PAN and date of birth, and you give explicit consent by ticking the consent checkbox before submitting.
  2. These details are transmitted over a secure connection to a licensed partner that is authorised to access credit-bureau data.
  3. The partner retrieves the relevant score or report from a Credit Information Company (such as CIBIL/TransUnion, Experian, Equifax or CRIF High Mark) and returns an indicative result to you.

The score shown is indicative and is meant for your general awareness. It does not guarantee loan approval or any particular loan terms, which remain at the sole discretion of partner banks and NBFCs.

PAN and Date of Birth Are Sensitive Data

We treat your PAN and date of birth as sensitive personal information. Because of this:

  • We collect them only with your active, informed consent and only for the purpose of the credit-score check you request.
  • We ask for the minimum data necessary — we do not require or collect additional sensitive identifiers for this feature.
  • The data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption so that it is protected in transit between your browser, LoanServ and the licensed partner.
  • Access to this data is restricted to the processing needed to fulfil your request.

Consent Is Mandatory

The credit-score check will not run unless you have given clear consent. By ticking the consent box, you confirm that:

  • You are the owner of the PAN and date of birth submitted, or are authorised to submit them.
  • You authorise LoanServ and its licensed partner to use these details solely to retrieve your credit information for this check.
  • You understand that a credit-score enquiry of this nature is a "soft" enquiry intended for your own awareness and does not itself amount to a loan application.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal will stop future processing but cannot reverse a check already completed at your request.

Role of Licensed Partners and the Legal Framework

In India, credit information is maintained and disclosed by Credit Information Companies (CICs) regulated under the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005 and the rules and regulations made under it, together with the Reserve Bank of India's directions. Under this framework, credit-bureau data can be accessed only by licensed and authorised specified users.

LoanServ is not a CIC and is not licensed to pull credit reports directly. Actual bureau retrieval is performed only through a licensed partner that is authorised to act as a specified user. LoanServ simply facilitates your request and passes your consented details securely to that partner. The partner and the bureau process your information under their own regulatory obligations and privacy terms.

How the Data Is Used — and Not Stored

We use your PAN and date of birth strictly to obtain the credit-score result you asked for. We do not:

  • Store your PAN or date of birth longer than necessary to complete the requested check.
  • Use these sensitive details for advertising, profiling or any purpose unrelated to your credit-score request.
  • Sell or rent your sensitive personal information to anyone.

Once the check is complete, sensitive inputs that are no longer needed are discarded in the ordinary course, and we retain only the limited records required to operate our service or to meet legal obligations. Non-sensitive contact details you may also submit (such as name, phone or email) are handled under our main Privacy Policy.

Security Measures

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and restricted access, to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also keep your own devices and credentials secure.

Your Rights

You may, subject to applicable law:

  • Withdraw consent for the credit-score feature at any time.
  • Ask what limited data we hold in connection with your check.
  • Request correction or deletion of that data where we are not required to retain it.
  • Raise a grievance about how your sensitive data was handled.

Accuracy of Bureau Data

The credit score or report reflects data held by the relevant Credit Information Company and may not be fully up to date. If you believe your bureau data is inaccurate, you must raise a dispute directly with the concerned Credit Information Company or your lender, as LoanServ cannot alter bureau records.
